( re : I was attacked and beaten up )

To the Police of Thanh Tri district – Hanoi

Around 16 pm, on the 25th May 2014, Mr Phan Van Phong were giving us three a ride ( including me, my son Tran Van Tai DOB 27/11/2012, my other son Tran Van Phu, DOB 26/3/2010 ) by motorcycle from Mr Nguyen Tuong Thuy ‘s house, at number 11 clusters Quynh Lan, Vinh Quynh commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi to Giap Bat Bus Station, when we got to the gates of the Electrical Irrigation Engineering Company, located at Km 10 national Highway 1A, social Tu Hiep, Thanh Tri, Hanoi, 5 young stranger males on 2 motorbikes overtook us from behind, they used iron bars to hit me on the shoulder, on my left wrist, and they kicked our motorbike so that all 4 of us fell to the ground ( Phu was sitting in front, then Mr Phong, then Tai and myself ). When we fell, all 5 men focused on beating me, I ran into a nearby car parts shop calling for help, one of the young men ran after me the to the shop and used the iron bar to hit me, a man sitting at the desk stood up for me, so the young guy turned around and left .

I ran back to the street to be with my children, I was immediately set up on again by that same young man who chased me into the car parts shop, I ran into the courtyard of Electrical Irrigation Engineering Company crying for help, there were a few men working there, I took refuge behind the back of a male worker, but the man with the iron bar managed to hit me a few times on the shoulder and thigh then he fled. After that all 4 of us sat in front of the company waiting for our friends to come help us. As I was breast feeding Tai, the men returned and it was the same guy who had hit me inside the Engineering company, with another fat man, they both used the iron bars to chase and hit me while I was still carrying my son Tai in my arms. I ran around in the yard crying for help, they continued to hit me on the head, shoulders and arms, until both I and the baby fell to the ground, they jumped on me and hit me continuously, the fat guy hit me twice really hard on my right knee and shattered my kneecap. Mr Phan Van Phong ran over to stop them and was hit once on the head and once on the arm. When they saw my leg was broken and I was on the ground screaming, the two thugs stopped and ran off .

I call 115 for an ambulance, it came after a while to take me to the Agriculture Hospital in Ngoc Hoi, Thanh Tri for emergency treatment. Hospital X-rays and CT tomography showed a shattered right kneecap. Also my left wrist, both upper arms, shoulders, legs and head are battered and bruised. Around 7pm the same day, the 26th May, we were moved to the Vietnam-German Hospital, due to the hospital was too crowded, I was told they could not operate on me until the following week. The afternoon 26th May we went to Vietnam-France Hospital, where I had surgery and stayed for treatment for 4 days, on the 29th May I was discharged from the hospital .

Dear Sir!

My children and I have no animosity with this group of 5 strange men, but we were chased and brutally attacked, they caused me serious injuries throughout the body, affecting the psychology of my two children. Until now, I still feel pain all over, I am extremely anxious, I feel scared every time I walk on the road .

To ensure legal fairness, security and social safety and order, the police should protect the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens. Therefore, I make this application to report the behavior of this group of 5 men on the 25th May 2014 as above. I suggest the office takes actions within its jurisdiction to clarify the incident with thorough investigation, and punish gravely those people who have violated the laws .
