One Vietnamese Man Dies in Police Station, Investigation Launched

According to state-run newspapers, Nguyen Van Tinh, 40, was caught red-handed gambling with his friend on Feb 28. The communal police detained him to a local police station where he died several hours later.
 The autopsy showed that Mr. Tinh had blood clots in brain.
 So far, there are no specific reasons for his death nor who is responsible for that.

Police in Vietnam’s central province of Ha Tinh have launched an investigation into the death of a local resident held in a police station in Ky Van commune in Ky Anh district, state media reported.
According to state-run newspapers, Nguyen Van Tinh, 40, was caught red-handed gambling with his friend on Feb 28. The communal police detained him to a local police station where he died several hours later.
The autopsy showed that Mr. Tinh had blood clots in brain.
So far, there are no specific reasons for his death nor who is responsible for that.
There have been dozens of Vietnamese dying during police stations across the nation during the past several years. Some of them were said to commit suicide while others were beaten deadly by policemen, according to state-run media.
Last year, the country ratified the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment which is expected to halt police torture in the one-party communist nation.
