He confirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State’s religious policy always respects and guarantees the freedom of religion and belief as well as stipulates religious practices that are beneficial for the nation.

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs will support religions and Cao Dai Tien Thien in particular according to the State law, he added.

The Ante Creation (Cao Dai Tien Thien) Church has adopted a Charter and religious practice programme between 2015 and 2020 to promote compassion and solidarity among Cao Dai dignitaries and followers.

The adoption was made at the Church’s fifth congress, which opened in southern Ben Tre province on August 27 with the attendance of 500 dignitaries and followers of 124 sects from 16 cities and provinces across the country.

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Tran Tan Hung said he hopes the Church’s executive board will continually uphold its sound tradition of and responsibility for managing religious activities and encouraging its followers to engage in socio-economic and cultural development.

He confirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State’s religious policy always respects and guarantees the freedom of religion and belief as well as stipulates religious practices that are beneficial for the nation.

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs will support religions and Cao Dai Tien Thien in particular according to the State law, he added.

During the last tenure, the religious practice programme was effectively implemented at the grassroots level thanks to support from the Government and local authorities.

Besides strengthening the internal organisation, Cao Dai Tien Thien also upgraded its churches and concentrated on religious and social charitable activities.

Over the past five years, the church has raised over 44.5 billion VND (1.95 million USD) for social charitable activities.-VNA
